Currently 2.0 — Weddings, Blogging, and More

A look at weddings, blogging, and more!
Top photo is with my brothers the day before my wedding back in March. Bottom left is from Libbi’s birthday two years ago, with Henry photo-bombing us. Bottom right is actually candles I had in Niort.

Smelling: Candles. While I did burn my Ocean candle and my Sand candle during the summer, I don’t really start to burn scented candles that often until fall. Right now my favorite combination is to burn three different dessert-scented candles at the same time. Their scents mingle so nicely in the living room and kitchen.

Loving: My best friends Libbi and Henry and their moms Suzanne and Lori. Last Saturday I attended an absolutely beautiful bridal shower for Libbi. While of course I enjoyed catching up with my sorority sisters (Libbi, Angela, Lucy, and Ericka, GO KAPPA), I finally got to meet Henry’s mom, Lori!!!! And she’s just as wonderful as Libbi told me. Also she’s the only person who completely understands why it’s such a big deal that I got a Platinum trophy in WordScramble.

Plus Suzanne was in town, and I love her too. When Libbi and I first lived together as co-interns three summers ago, Suzanne sent me a birthday card. We had never met, and I’d known her daughter less than two weeks, but she wanted to wish me a happy birthday. Basically Libbi and Henry are amazing friends of mine, and they come from amazing mothers. I’m so excited to do more bridal stuff with my bestie in the upcoming months.

Planning: Blog posts and sponsorships. I am trying SO hard to get more posts scheduled in advance. Like I’m writing this on Monday night. But finding the time to live my life AND write about my life is hard! Planning out sponsorships is a little bit easier. I’ve done three button swaps (check out my sidebar! Amanda, Carolynn, and Jenna are awesome!). I have an ad scheduled with Jess for October and a small ad with Marielle in November and a big one in January. I have a guest post coming up with Kiersten.

And then I have my blogging journal, with notes of all the bloggers I love and their best sponsorship options for me, plus their prices. I’m trying to space them all out, though. I check in on each blogger’s profile at Passionfruit periodically, just to make sure they’re not booked six months out.

Baking: Whatever Pillsbury rolls Dan and I decide to share at Game Night. Once a week we get together with friends for a potluck dinner and boards games. While I have occasionally provided the main meal, dessert, or sangria, Dan and I mostly provide the bread every week. Tonight is our weekly Game Night, so we’ll be baking rolls at our friend Chris’s house tonight!

Celebrating: Harry and Celia’s nuptials!!!!!!! Their wedding is this Saturday! I haven’t seen Harry and Celia since May, when we were all in South Carolina for my mom’s surgery. I’m so excited to finally see them say “I do.” I am curious to see if Harry ever convinced Celia that they should combine names to make “Robinslong.” I’m just saying. It’s an awesome last name.

Besides crying tears of joy, it will be fun to see family and friends again for the first time since my own reception back in April. Harry and I are so blessed to have family and friends who love us enough to attend both my reception and his wedding.

Celebrating my wedding with loved ones
Top row, L to R: Brother Jeremy, me, Dan, longtime friend Rachel, Rachel’s husband BJ, FSIL Celia, twin brother Harry.
Bottom row, L to R: Dear family friend Susie, Susie’s daughter Shannon, Mom, me, Dan, my Aunt Kari, my cousin/Kari’s son Daniel.

Linking up with Jenna and Anne for Currently. Also, I wrote this post on Monday. On Tuesday, my grandmother died. Please keep my family in your thoughts and prayers.

Bisous, Brita
