Meet Brita

Living Outside the Lines

Bonjour, y’all! My name is Brita Long.

That’s pronounced bree-tuh. Like the bree in “brie cheese” and the tuh in “ta-da!” If you’re looking for Brita long-lasting water filters, then you’re in the wrong place.

But if you’re ready to embrace a bold and authentic life, this is the place for you. I’ve spent more than a decade writing about the beautiful and messy parts of life, chronicling everything from the early days of my marriage to the lifelong challenges of chronic illness. Along the way, I’ve helped my readers thrive during the highs of life and survive during the lows.

Join me in navigating this beautiful, messy thing called life.

Bold. Beautiful. Britastic.

I founded Belle Brita back in 2014. While I haven’t published much here since 2021, I’ve been writing the whole time—just on other platforms. But while I get back into the swing of things (8 months pregnant is the best time to relaunch a blog, right?), you can still learn from my years of writing on everything from marriage to Crohn’s Disease.

Marriage

If you’re looking for real advice on dating, relationships, sex, and marriage, this is the place for you. My husband and I have been married since 2014. We’ve faced more than our fair share of challenges, and we’ve both taken the time to write what we’ve learned here.

Faith

My faith and feminism are intimately intertwined. I love God above all else, and I love my neighbor as myself. Even when my neighbor and I are different. Even when we experience privilege and oppression in different ways. Discover what it looks like to follow the radical love of Jesus.

Feminism

I’ve been calling out sexism since I was in elementary school, without even knowing the word for it. I made a reputation for myself first in high school, and then in college, as an outspoken feminist—often the only one in my class. As I’ve learned and grown over the years, my understanding of feminism has evolved as well, and so has my writing on the subject.

Merci beaucoup!

Thank you for being here. I hope that my writing encourages you to pursue your best and most authentic life, whatever that looks like for you.
