February 2016 Goals // January Recap

Since I’m hosting a daily blogging challenge in February, I’m a little early for my monthly goals post. I usually publish my new goals on the 1st or the 2nd of the new month. I’m writing about The 5 Love Languages on Monday and Best Friends on Tuesday! I hope you’ll join me for the #LoveBlog link-up.

I absolutely KILLED it with my January goals. Seriously, I’m so proud of how much I got done.

Setting monthly goals keeps me accountable. What did you accomplish last month? | Belle Brita

January Recap:

For my career:

  • I blogged at least twice a week, no more than four times a week.
  • I did not work on any of my courses, but I did talk to a course instructor about retaking it with the next group of students this spring. (It’s an online course, that can be self-paced, but the instructor designed it a week at a time). I think taking it at the normal pace, with other students, will really help me focus and get all the homework done properly.

For my health:

  • I’ve done amazing with Whole30. Tomorrow is my last day! I start the reintroduction of foods on Monday. Other than my weekly recaps, I’ll write more about the experience in March, since I have #LoveBlog all of February.
  • Dan and I still need to figure out how our insurance works for me to see an allergist.
  • I had a dentist appointment! Alas, I now need to floss after every single meal.
  • I had a physical and a Pap smear. I still need to get lab work done, but I have to fast for it, so I need to plan in advance.
  • I did not workout 3 days a week… but I did start working out again. It sucks a little to start over after having come so far with my fitness goals in the fall, but it’s better to start over than give up.

For my marriage:

  • I love Couple Checkup! Look out for a blog post on our results in a few weeks.
  • Dan and I had a blast in Dallas.
  • It took us a lot longer than anticipated, but we finally had our couple’s massage. It was SO relaxing!

For our household:

  • I haven’t actually cleaned all of the bathrooms yet… But I still have today and tomorrow! I scrubbed our master bathroom until it shined, plus I do regular maintenance since the dust accumulates quickly.
  • I’ve dusted almost the entire townhouse, plus Dan vacuumed almost the entire townhouse. We still need to tidy/organize the guest bedroom and my office, which makes it difficult to clean.
  • Dan and I have both cooked so many yummy Whole30 meals this month!

For my book challenge:

  • I only finished one book. Fail. But it was a long book. And I did finally get a library card, so yay!

February Goals:

For my career:

  • Blog every single day! I’m so excited about hosting the #LoveBlog challenge and link-up. It will not be easy, but I’m ready to challenge myself with something new.
  • Post to Instagram every single day!
  • Grow my Instagram following to 2,500.
  • Grow my Twitter following to 850.

For my health:

  • Reintroduce foods slowly after finishing Whole30. Don’t go too crazy or binge!
  • Continue eating lots of fruits and vegetables.
  • Workout 3 days a week.
  • Schedule an appointment with an allergist.
  • Schedule a follow-up appointment with my gastroenterologist.

For my marriage:

  • Speak to Dan with all five love languages!
  • Get back in the habit of eating dinner at the table, without the TV. Netflix has been creeping back into our meal habits!

For our household:

  • Get everything ready for our Valentine’s Weekend!
  • Clean all the bathrooms.
  • Dust the entire townhouse.
  • Clean the guest bedroom.
  • Take down the Christmas tree (don’t judge me–this is a mutual failure of Dan and me, since I wanted to take it down the one weekend I had plenty of free time, and he wanted to keep it up. That’s on him. But I want to organize all the ornaments, so he can’t do it without me. That’s on me).

For my book challenge:

  • Read 2 books. I will need to do heavy reading in March and in April, but February will be too busy for me to be ambitious about my reading.

Mostly February will be about blogging daily and posting to Instagram daily! Both of those will take up a lot of my time, especially since I’m hosting.

I’m also really excited about our Valentine’s Weekend with several of our friends. I have lots of ideas for the party. I’ve already started buying supplies.

What are your goals for February? How did you do on your January goals? Share your progress in the comments!
