Thankful Thursday: Focusing on the Little Things

Wow, I can’t believe I haven’t joined the Thankful Thursday blog link-up with Charlene since Thanksgiving! But with #LoveBlog in February, and getting ready for #LoveBlog at the end of January, and being depressed in December, Thankful Thursday just didn’t happen.

This month I’m not really thankful for any one big thing in particular. Instead, I’m thankful for all the small blessings in my life.

This month, I'm thankful for all the small blessings in my life | Belle Brita

I’m thankful for the daffodils and tulips in my garden. I’m thankful for the birds who visit our bird-feeder. I’m thankful for a husband who regularly refills the bird-feeder with birdseed!

I’m thankful for the warm weather, even if the pollen is bothering me!

I’m thankful for Dan’s family who have completely embraced me as one of their own. I’m thankful for my darling baby nephew, who is such a joy to hold! I’m thankful that Dan and I can afford to fly to Ohio to visit his family.

I’m thankful for my own family. I’m thankful for Jeremy, who’s doing exciting things in Vietnam! I’m thankful for my dad, who doesn’t mind all of my visits home. He also lets me DVR all of my Disney shows, some of which he even watches with me! I’m thankful for Harry and Celia, who I get to see again in April when I’m a bridesmaid in my best friend’s wedding. I’m again thankful for my dad, who is paying for our condo for a mini beach vacation around the wedding.

I’m thankful that I took the time this month to read three books. I’m thankful that I didn’t stress out so much about blogging at least three days a week (even though my stats took a hit).

I’m thankful for my flurry of career opportunities this month. I pitched my first article to xoJane–and it was accepted! I submitted the article Tuesday night, so now I’m just waiting for the response from my editor. I also have a major collaboration coming up with a woman I’ve known and admired for years, who was also a dear friend to my mom. Plus I was invited to apply for something pretty cool–now I’m waiting to see if they pick me!

I’m thankful for my husband who supports my creative career.

I’m thankful to have made such progress with Instagram thanks to these guides (affiliate link, but yes, I’ve bought three of the guides myself!). I have over 4,000 followers now! Are you following me?

I’m thankful to see so many of my friends getting involved in the political process. Your vote matters!

I’m thankful to my loyal blog readers who keep commenting even when I haven’t read many of your blog posts this month. I took a break this month, but I’ll be back and spam you all with comments!

I love co-hosting Thankful Thursday with my friend Charlene! | Belle Brita

I’m thankful for Charlene, the host of Thankful Thursday! If Charlene’s name or picture looks familiar, it’s because she co-hosted much of my daily blogging challenge #LoveBlog with me last month. She was also my co-host all month for my daily Instagram challenge.

Who else loves a good #blate (blogger date)?! Charlene came over for dinner! | Belle Brita

Charlene blogs at Enduring All Things about marriage, Christianity, and other fun stories from her life. Also, we’re weird opposites, since she moved from Georgia to Ohio, and I moved from Ohio to Georgia. Luckily that means we finally got to meet during her recent trip to Georgia! I hope we get to hang out in Columbus during my next trip to Ohio.

Glad you could find some positive this Thursday! I am also so thankful for Charlene’s Thankful Thursday posts! It reminds me to remove my ‘Negative Nancy’ glasses and try and find some positive in the world!

Hey, you don’t strike me as a Negative Nancy. 😛 I’m like a jaded optimist, which makes for a really interesting worldview. But I do always try to find the bright side of things!

Sounds like you have a lot of great things going on recently! Thanks for the lovely shout out. I totally took a blogging break this month too though I didn’t quite read 3 books…

I wish I had a garden. Maybe I need to go out and get some flowers!

Most of my garden existed when we moved in. We’re renting. 😉 But I did buy some cheap bulbs from Aldi in the fall. I planted a few in pots and a few more in the ground. I probably didn’t plant them deep enough since the stalks are taller than all my other bulbs! But they still look pretty.
