Long-time readers of Belle Brita are familiar with the monthly blog link-up The F-Word. At first I just joined up each month, but I recently started hosting it.
The founders of The F-Word have both stepped back from blogging, leaving me to manage our blossoming feminist community myself.
What is The F-Word?
The F-Word is an online community of feminists. While The F-Word originally started as just a blog link-up for feminist bloggers, it evolved to include both a Facebook group, a Twitter list, and a Pinterest board. Eventually I hope to host or co-host a Twitter chat as well.
Who can join The F-Word?
If you’re a feminist, or if you’re interested in feminist goals, then you can join The F-Word! I try not to worry about labels. Some feminist-friendly men don’t want to co-opt the feminist label for themselves. Some women prefer to identify as womanists. If you believe in gender equality, then you can join The F-Word!
How can you participate in The F-Word?
If you are a feminist blogger, even if you only blog about feminism occasionally, please join the monthly link-up! Most months you can write about the optional topic. If that doesn’t interest you, you can link up any recent post on feminism. Past topics have included intersectionality, feminism & religion, and Women’s History Month. October’s optional topic is Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
Even if you’re not a blogger, The F-Word welcomes you! We’re on Pinterest, Facebook, and Twitter.
To join The F-Word group board on Pinterest, first follow me on Pinterest. Then leave a comment below, email me, or get in touch with me on social media with your Pinterest handle. I will add you to the group board!
I just changed the settings on the Facebook group. It’s now a closed group, so only members can see posts and comments. If you want to join The F-Word on Facebook, request to join!
Finally, if you want to be added to The F-Word Twitter list, let me know! The only requirement is that your Twitter account must be public. If you’re on Twitter, I highly recommend you subscribe to the list as well.
