Each day is a new day.
Each morning is a new beginning.
All of us have the chance to start something new.
We can right our wrongs.
We can let go of our fears.
We can meet new people.
We can repair damaged relationships.
We can change someone’s mind.
We can touch someone’s heart.
We can spread love, joy, and justice to our friends, to our community, to the globe.
Today is a new day.
What will you do?
Today is the first day of the #WEAREFIREANDLIGHT campaign.
We are making a declaration that we are women of fire and light. We are provoking that same question in
women as they come across what we’re doing; what is your fire and what will never stop you?
What is my fire?
My fire is promoting healthy relationships.
My fire is teaching consent from the cradle to the grave.
My fire is empowering women to have real choices in life and to make the best choices for themselves.
My fire is supporting anyone who has survived sexual abuse, sexual assault, or rape.
My fire is raising awareness not just for Crohn’s Disease, but for all invisible illnesses.
My fire is changing the world, one heart at a time.
What is your fire?
Will you change the world with me?
Several months ago, I launched my monthly newsletter, life.love.latitude. Every month, subscribers receive encouragement from me, along with actionable steps, for self-improvement, stronger relationships, and community outreach.
Starting in November, I will also send out a weekly newsletter focused specifically on women’s issues and feminist topics. This is a continuation of The F-Word, the online feminist community I currently run. Friday’s The F-Word will come out every Friday (duh).
Learn more about both life.love.latitude and Friday’s The F-Word! You can subscribe to either or both newsletters at that link.
Be the change you wish to see in the world. Together, we can make a difference.
Now is the time to declare your fire. In the comments below, fill in this statement.
“My fire is ______ and _____ will not extinguish it.”
