3 Things You Don’t Know About Me // Volume 5

Earlier this week, Dan answered a few questions about himself. Now I’m sharing a few things you don’t know about me or my sponsors!

A few things you didn't know about me...

What You Don’t Know About Me

1. I was a freshman at Furman University when the Disney Channel Original Movie (DCOM) High School Musical debuted. I’d been excited about it for months. The night it debuted, I planned my evening perfectly. I had my favorite soda in the fridge. I had a new bag of Twizzlers. I ordered my pizza to arrive no later than ten minutes before the movie started. Then I sat on my dorm room couch, enjoyed my junk food, and watched High School Musical all by myself. It was glorious.

2. I’ve started using the techniques from The FlyLady to organize my life. The website’s design is horrible. My copy of the book is from the early 2000s, with hilarious references to Palm Pilots. I hope my mom bought the book secondhand, since there’s an inscription in the front. If not, my dearly departed disorganized mother inadvertently kept a book someone loaned to her. All that said, the focus on baby steps and routines has helped me not worry about what I haven’t gotten done yet. FLY stands for Finally Loving Yourself. Well, I’ve been loving myself for awhile, but sometimes I forget to give myself grace for my flaws. The FlyLady guidelines remind me to give myself grace.

3. My favorite iPhone game is WordCrack. This should not be a surprise to anyone who has seen me play Scrabble.

Discover more about Vanessa, blogger behind Petal & Mortar!

Twitter // Bloglovin // Pinterest

Vanessa is a long-time reader of Belle Brita who launched her own blog in January 2015. At Petal and Mortar, she writes about living with Celiac Disease (except with the British spelling Coeliac) and dealing with anxiety. I admire Vanessa for her openness in her writing! If you love France as much as I do, you’ll definitely want to read through her posts on French holidays and gluten-free dining in France.

What You Don’t Know About Vanessa:

Vanessa has several tattoos. (Me too!)

Alanna runs the lifestyle blog Alanna & Company. Like pretty much all 20-something female bloggers, Alanna and I share a love for mimosas and brunch. I personally think mimosas are for all times of day, not just breakfast. Also, her hilarious and informative post on commas is a must-read for writers (and my husband). To misquote Vampire Weekend, yes, I give a fuck about an Oxford Comma.

What You Don’t Know About Alanna:

She absolutely must have music to work. If Alanna doesn’t have music on, she can’t concentrate. Her favorite band to listen to is MuteMath.
