Last month was the very last blog link-up for the Guys Behind the Blog. Of course, I called my own version Site Prep with Dan. Although the blog link-up has ended, my interviews with Dan will continue!
Today is the inaugural remixed version of Site Prep with Dan:
Meet the Flongs.
Each month, I will give my answers alongside Dan’s answers to themed questions.
August’s theme is Summer!
What was your best summer vacation as a kid?
Dan: That’s a tough one. I had many great vacations as a kid. My parents would take us on long, three-week tours of different parts of the country. There were a lot of vacations that I don’t even remember. I don’t remember how old I was, but our trip out West to see Yellowstone and Grand Teton, plus going down the Snake River in a raft, was a very awesome and memorable vacation.
Brita: When I was 7, my family moved from California to South Carolina. We spent an entire month on the road! While I routinely told my parents to drop me off at the nearest airport, it was pretty cool getting to see all over the country. My family even managed to arrive in Denver in time for my Aunt Kari to give birth to her second baby!
What was the highlight of this summer?
Dan: This summer, I got to see two of my good friends get married in rural Pennsylvania. Brita and I stayed in a wonderful bed & breakfast on a hill overlooking a valley. The wedding was phenomenal. It was great to see so many friends that I don’t get to see very often now that we live in Georgia.
Brita: This summer has mostly been pretty terrible for me. I’ve been both sick and sad, which does not make for a great summer. But I loved my visit to Ohio! I spent several days with my best friends Libbi and Henry before Dan flew in. Then we spent time with Dan’s family in Findlay and in Bluffton.
What’s the worst part about summer in Georgia?
Dan: A toss-up between heat and humidity. I know this is cliche, but when you drive around in a convertible with no air conditioning in traffic, it gets rather unpleasant rather quickly.
Brita: Georgia is so hot and humid! When it finally cools down a bit at night, the bugs come out. I much prefer Georgia in the fall.
What would be your dream summer vacation?
Dan: How realisitic does this need to be? Is the moon out of reach? I guess it doesn’t really matter what season you go to the moon; it’s all the same there.
Brita: As much as I love Paris, I really want to spend a few weeks in Norway in the summer. For my grandmother’s 80th birthday, my mom and my aunt took Grandma to Norway for a few weeks. That’s my dream summer vacation!
Hey, fellow bloggers! I could turn this series into a blog link-up if there’s interest. It would not be limited to couples. You could answer the questions just for yourself, or you could interview a friend each month, or do whatever you want with it. If you’d like me to make this a monthly blog link-up, please comment below! I’ll do it if at least 5 fellow bloggers express interest. If not, no biggie! Dan loves answering questions each month, so I’m doing this series for him.
Tell me about your summer!
