Site Prep with Dan // Volume 6

Dan and I are back for another month of fun questions. Betsy and Laura Jean crowd-sourced these questions from participating bloggers. I honestly have no idea which questions I suggested. The first question sounds like something I would ask. Who knows?!

I’m also doubling up with this post! Fellow Atlanta blogger Becca hosts a link-up called Blogger Men Tell All. Dan loved having extra questions to answer!

The Guys Behind the Blog

What’s the silliest thing you and your wife have needed to compromise on?

Who gets what stuffed animals when we go to bed, because we have a lot of stuffed animals, and sometimes we need to compromise on who gets to snuggle with whom.

(Ed note: Can the solution to this compromise be that we both buy new, hand-knit stuffed animals from cuddle+kind?)

If you were stranded on a deserted island, what 3 must-haves would you bring with you?

I mean, is there a limit to what I can bring? Do I have to be able to carry it? Is there a size limit? A weight limit?

I would bring a small nuclear generator, an undersea Google Fiber cable, and a laptop.

You say I get my own private island, and I can bring anything?! Regardless of cost, weight, or size?!

Talents aside, what is your dream job?

I’ve always kinda wanted to be an astronaut. I gave up on that when I was younger. It turned out to be a good decision, considering where the U.S. space program is at the moment.

What are three things on your bucket list?

I haven’t really made a bucket list yet. But since we’re on the topic of astronauts, going to space would be pretty cool! And come to think of it, having a private island would be pretty awesome too. So, like all things, I’m forced to make a third wish, so I guess my last item on my bucket list is to make a bucket list.

(Ed note: Clearly Dan doesn’t understand the concept of a bucket list. That’s okay. I love him regardless. Luckily for him, I recently wrote out my own timely bucket list! Check out the 30 things I hope to do before my 30th birthday. Many of them involve Dan, surprise surprise).

What kind of date is your favorite to go on with your wife?

I guess we have to go out… Star Trek, wings, and beer doesn’t count?

It’s fun going to musicals, I guess. You enjoy that. We went and saw The Lion King in New York, and then Wicked in Columbus. Oh, and we saw Avenue Q in Findlay. We saw Shrek: the Musical with my parents, which was actually the second time we saw that.

Do I have to come up with three dates?

Blogger Men Tell All

Do you know what you’ll be for Halloween this year?

A race car driver!

No, really, I’m not dressing up in a costume. I’ll be participating in a race on October 31 and November 1.

You have to wear a WHOLE costume, including a jumpsuit, a helmet, and even shoes & socks.

What is your favorite fall treat?

Well, it’s NOT candy corn. That stuff’s disgusting. I don’t know how anyone can eat it. And I’m kind of a candy connoisseur.

Traditionally, my favorite Halloween candy was Milky Way Midnight Dark. But now, I would have to go with Three Musketeers Mint. The addition of the mint flavoring more than trumps the caramel in the Milky Way.

What TV shows are you enjoying this Fall?

Well, the ones Brita and I are enjoying together are:

  • Star Trek: The Original Series
  • Frasier
  • and, sadly, finishing up That 70s Show, which is very disappointing

By myself, I’m going through:

  • Bernie Mac
  • The A-Team

Netflix counts for “this Fall,” right?

What is one goal you’d like to accomplish by the end of 2015?

I would like to get our townhouse organized and everything unboxed and put away.

The Guys Behind the Blog link-up goes up Thursday, September 24th with Betsy and Laura Jean. I call mine Site Prep with Dan because I’m a rebel. Blogger Men Tell All goes up Tuesday, September 29th with Becca.

Tell me more about your significant other!
